We coded the bot again, but this time I coded it to go though a maze I made out of tape. It was difficult but I still managed to get it though. There's only one mistake/problem at the end the bot went onto the line, but next time I think I know how to fix it.
I am a Year 8 learner at Pt England School in Auckland, New Zealand. I am in Room 4 and my teacher is Mrs Stone.

Alberto Giacometti
Alberto Giacometti was an artist who made different types of art. He was a sculptor, painter, draftsman and printmaker. At the time he made art most sculptures weren't as thin and skinny as Alberto's sculptures, Alberto made his sculptures skinny so they stood out from others, so there was something more eye catching and different.

Georges Seurat
Today we had our art rotations, this time we went to room 3. We learn't about Georges Seurat with Mrs Tele'a. Georges Seurat had a unique and time consuming technique, which was using either dots or short stokes like dashes. Not only that but he wouldn't mix the colours, he would only place the colours next to each other while our eyes mix the colours ourselves.

Plastic pollution
WALT: to organise our ideas into paragraphs
We have many environmental problems globally, but one of the most problematic and harmful environmental issues would be plastic pollution. Many people know that plastic pollution is a big problem throughout the world, yet people continue using and making plastic. As most of the world's population uses plastic it’s being made more, and more of that plastic ends up in our beautiful oceans. Those actions are causing plastic pollution to become an even bigger environmental issue that only a few thousand of us are dealing with properly. Plastic pollution in the world is so inferior we have an island of rubbish just floating in the sea. The most disappointing thing is that only a few of us are doing something about plastic pollution, it’s about time we all do something to help the environment. One simple thing you could do to commit to helping the environment is possibly using as many biodegradable plastic objects you can, as it can break down quicker than normal plastic.
Everyone knows how useful and beneficial plastic can be to us, but with those benefits also comes problems, and inconveniences. Plastic is durable, and that's convenient, but it’s also the main problem about plastic. The fact that it’s durable makes it harder to break down. It can take up to 1,000 years at most, and that’s only an estimate, it could possibly take longer. Once the plastic breaks down a bit it’s small enough for marine animals to eat, because of that the fish we eat are likely to have ingested plastic, meaning we are also eating plastic.
Plastic is used a lot in our daily lives. We use plastic so often that it seems like we need it, but we don’t. Instead of using single use plastic you could replace it with something else like maybe replacing a plastic water bottle with a stainless steel bottle. Another thing you could replace would be cosmetics. A lot of people don’t know that there are little pieces of plastic hidden inside a few cosmetic products. Those littles pieces of plastic are called microbeads. Fortunately microbeads have been banned in a few countries.
Not every piece of plastic is single use. In Fact you can always use it again. Clean the plastic again and use it, don’t throw it away and get the same piece of plastic. If you use it again it doesn’t have to still have the same purpose. You can always repurpose the plastic by turning something like a water bottle into a vase, or pencil holder. Use your mind and be creative. Not only would you be helping the environment, but you could also entertain yourself creating something with the plastic.
Often we buy things with plastic that we don’t need, leaving you with left-over rubbish. You can avoid that necessary waste by refusing to buy the plastic in the first place. Instead of going to a store where things are new and packaged in plastic you can go to a second hand shop. I recommend going to a second hand shop because it’s already unpackaged, you would have no leftover plastic. Not only will it be ridding you of extra waste but it could also save your money.
If you want to see the world restored to its original beauty, the best thing you could do is follow doing as many of the R’s as you can. Make sure you continue it even if it feels like you're not doing anything helpful, because in reality you are. You shouldn’t do it by yourself so tell your family and friends, so we can save the earth.

Admirable Algebra 2
Today for maths our main focus was algebra. We also did a bit of angles for maths. I found this task quite enjoyable because it was difficult and a new thing for me. I'm glad I struggled with this task because I won't have been able to learn and understand it if I didn't make a few mistakes.

Volume - Cuboid
WALT: Calculate the volume of a cuboid.
For today's maths we had to work out the volume of a box without a lid. We got to pick the size of the box and create it, we were trying to find the largest volume.
This is my box. I found out that the volume of my box was 484 cm. The formula I used was height x length x width.
Volume = 484 cm ³
To get 484 as my volume I did 4 x 11= 44 x 11= 484 cm³

Step Up 2021
We should definitely keep Mrs Moala's murder mystery, it's fun and mysterious it also gets people using their heads to solve the problem. I think doing the sports is fine but maybe we could do different sports, maybe the year 7's could suggest the sports they want to play a few weeks before so that the teachers can put it in the timetable. The activities are all fun so even if it's still the same next year I'm sure the year 7's will have an amazing three days.
Overall , these three days are really important for both the year 7's and year 8's. It's good for us to work together and have fun during those three days, and learn to step up.
My Highlights from the year 7 Step Up Programme
I had many highlights but my favourite thing I did that week wasn't really apart of the year 7 Step Up Programme but I thought it would be nice to share that experience.

that old, worn out toy”
that. She didn’t want him to throw a larger tantrum so she told him to look under his bed. With those words,
he ran to his room trying to find the toy he loved more than anything. He dropped himself slowly onto the
ground and leaned forward, head on the ground, only to find his toy and a glowing red, demon-like orb. The
intimidating looking orb didn’t scare Jackson, so instead, he became curious that he reached his arm out
to touch it. Instead of the orb attacking him, it disappeared but not into thin air. Little did he know the orb
disintegrated into small pieces enough to sneak under one of his tiny little wounds. Human blood is usually
blue inside our body but the orb turned his blood red inside and out…Jackson stanches the toy from under the bed, and rushes out of his room to the kitchen quickly but quietly. Nobody in the house seemed to notice him. He opened the second drawer and found a knife, it was a bit blunt so he looked through the other drawers and cabinets.

Immersion Assembly Term 3
Team 1 had a movie to display what they would be doing for A World of difference. It was about children wondering how other kids in the world get to school, or what they eat for lunch, or what they like to do after school.
Team 2 recreated Dora the explorer in New Zealand. Dora and Boots, had to travel though out New Zealand to get to Queensland. Thanks to the help of Dora's handy map they made it to their destination, and went skiing with the ski's backpack gave Dora.
Team 3 had their very own episode of the amazing race. They stopped at each of the seven wonders of the world. I assume that Team 3 are going to be having their own fun little race around the world though their research.
Team 4's movie had a lot of food involved in it. The movie was about where the food they were eating originally came from, one of the examples was sushi and the fact that is originated from Japan. They had many delicious foods from different places.
Team 5's item was different from the others. The teachers put on a little play. The play was of the legend of Sina and the eel. Mrs Iloa acted as Sina, and Mrs Tele'a played the roll of the eel. They acted that out because we are learning about myths and legends. It was a very entertaining show! That's one of the reasons why it's my favourite item's that day.

Paul Bunyan
We recently looked at another myth. This time we looked at a Tall Tale from America. This story, is about a lumberjack who is really tall and has done many great things. This includes the creation of many great land marks, like the Grand Canyon, Great Lakes and 10,000 lakes! Me and my buddy, Zaeeda worked together to complete this work task, on Paul Bunyan. We found this quite interesting and a bit difficult, but we made it in the end.

Fractions level 2.21
For maths we were doing fractions. We mostly focused on finding equivalent fractions but we did work out mixed and improper fractions as well. I used to take the long way to solve equivalent fractions, but now I know it's just better to just multiply or half it, which is what I have done for this. Honestly I struggled with adding the fractions, but I got the answer with a bit of help from Miss Stone's little lesson.

Witchcraft and Theories
Ever since we've been back in school and in room 4. We have been working on a inquiry task of our choosing. I worked with Zaeeda on this task and at the end we researched witches, mostly the Salem witch trials. When we finished we presented it to the class and had a pretty entertaining discussion about it. Along with that me and Zaeeda dressed up with a witch hat to show to give attribution to people killed in the salem witch trials because it was a massacre of innocent people.

3D shapes
Today during the maths period we made our own 3D shapes using pipe cleaners and straws. I made a heptagonal prism that has 9 faces, 14 vertices, and 21 edges. It was quite difficult to make the shape but I still had fun and learnt lot's about 3D shapes.

Different triangles
Today we've learn't about right angles, acute angles, obtuse angles, and an reflex angle. I learn't that a right angle is 90 degrees, and an acute angle is less than 90 degrees, if it's more than 90 degrees then it's a obtuse angle. If it goes pass 180 degrees than it's considered a reflex angle. I also learn't about the different triangles, like an Isosceles triangle or a scalene triangle. An Isosceles triangle has only two angles and two equal sides. A scalene triangle has no equal sides nor angles.

Healthy Food : How to make sushi
Today we had to share a healthy meal with you guys as it is apart of Taha Tinana (Physical health). This is a simple recipe on how to make sushi, you could try this at home whenever you'd want to. It doesn't take long to make, it's quick and easy. Sushi is one of my favourite foods, so I hope you enjoy as much as I do! :)
Polygon
Today we have used tooth picks to create different shapes like a triangle, pentagons, and more shapes. We also learnt more about what makes a polygon a polygon. After using the tooth picks we had to go and make our own shapes using a dotty grid, in this slide it shows that the shape I made has 5 side, 5 vertices, and 5 angles it's also a convex shape. One of the new things I have learnt today is the meaning of polygon, in Greek poly means many, and gon means angle.

Journal Of A Survivor.
I roamed around like an idiot. Scavenging for more food. All on my own, I was having a mental breakdown, but I had many reasons to after all I was in a jungle alone without knowing how to get out, and on top of that I got chased by different animals almost everyday, it was mostly monkeys. They drive me bananas. Once a panther was chasing me I’m just lucky to be alive right now. I was going mental because of these animals, if they couldn’t tell I could have gone mental on my own, but they just had to help go crazy.
This is the one morning I’ve woken up peacefully, and I thought it wasn’t going to stay like that so I didn’t get my hopes high. But today was a quiet day with no animals chasing me for once. At this point I thought today was a dream, and that it couldn’t get any better. That had just proved me wrong. I got much better, in fact I had found a jackpot of food on the plane, and even someone's empty notebook. I decided to use it as my own journal, you know in case someone found this place and I’m dead… At Least they would know someone survived, right?
DAY 1 : Technically it’s not my first day here so I guess it’s actually day 9 :
I know it’s a bit late to start a journal right now but I’m doing it anyway. Today seems like it’s going to be my one lucky day, because so much has happened, for one I found my new journal. I’m also not being chased by a monkey or something like that, and I hit the jackpot on food from the plane. So many more things have happened as well. But it would be too much for me to write, because writing can be tiring.
After that day I would write in my journal everyday it was the only thing that kept me from going insane. Even if I get found, or escape this place I won’t stop writing in it until all the pages are full. I wrote in my journal everyday whenever I could. It helped me stay sane enough to survive for as long as I did. After around 50-ish days in that jungle my life will never be the same. That’s a once in a lifetime experience.
I wrote this based on my other short story call mental survivor. This has a similar story line to mental survivor expect the main character doesn't go crazy.

Mental Survivor
Questions roam wildly in my head. Where am I? What happened? Is anyone else alive? Is this even real?
I aimlessly walk around hoping to find something or someone that could help me survive, or to even get me out
of here. Good news I had found some food on the plane, bad news everyone around me was dead, everyone but
me. I had to survive all on my own.
already dead. I had to sleep in the plane last night. It's not that comfy though., but it’s better than nothing. I'm gonna
need to run now! I’m being chased!
bananas. You get it because monkeys live in the jungle and they love bananas. I’m going to die soon won’t I?!
What do you call A panther that loves puns?

Rambunctious Ratios
- 4 x 6 = 24 2. 4 x 5 = 20 3. 4 x 8 = 32 4. 4 x 12 = 48
Solve these problems. Write down your strategies:
- Zyla has 64 lollies to share between some friends. How many lollies would each friend get if there were 8 altogether?
- At Pt England Kids one teacher is allowed to care for three toddlers. How many toddlers can they look after if there are 8 teachers?
- It takes AL87 5 minutes to make 10 sausages for the sausage sizzle. How long will it take them to make 70 sausages?
- At camp, we need one adult to every 8 students. If there are 88 year eights this year, how many adults will we need to take?
- If 1 pack of raro makes 8 cups of drink, how many packs would we need to make 64?
- If 3 loaves of bread feed 9 children for a week, how many loaves would 12 children need?
