1. Kalani has $2.50. He is then given $0.80. How much more money does he have altogether?
$2.50-30c=$2.20+80c($0.80)=$3.00+30c=$3.30

32.00+34.00=66.00(1 minute) 00.34+00.83=11.7+1 minute= 1 minute and 11.7 seconds.
3. Pauline buys an apple for $0.90 and pays with a $5.00 note. How much change will she get?
$5.00-$0.90=$5.10+$0.90=$5.00

28.3x5=141.5
28.3+28=56.3+0.03=56.6+50.6=107.2+6=113.2+28=141.2+0.03=141.5

Show your working as you solve these problems:

1235 + 5643 =6878
1235+5003=6238+640=6878

54.56 + 45.56 =100.12
54+45=99
0.06+0.06=0.12
0.5+0.5=1+0.12=1.12+99=100.12

65.45 + 41.44 =106.89
65.05+41.04=106.09
0.4+0.4=0.8+106.09=106.89

23.67 + 75.52=99.19
23+75=98
0.67+0.52=1.19+98=99.19
